Non-CDL transport of our program participants from their homes to designated location.
Responsible for maintaining the safety of individuals receiving services at all times.
Ensures that van has been properly maintained and inspects the inside and outside of the vehicle at the beginning and end of each day as well as a participation in a monthly preventative maintenance program.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for compliance with the Vehicle and Traffic Laws of the jurisdiction in which the vehicle is being operated.
Provides safe and consistent travel arrangements to all assigned participating individuals.
Responsible for identifying problems or concerns relating to the maintenance of the assigned vehicle and reporting any deficiencies to the Transportation Manager or the Building and Property Coordinator.
Ensures all individuals are properly restrained in seat belts or other devices to ensure their safety while being transported.
Responsible for ensuring all individuals are accounted for when arriving at the designated location and when returning them to their residences.
Responsible for reporting all incidents, accidents, or other behaviors, which may cause difficulty in transporting individuals receiving services Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of area roadways.
Ability to operate vehicles of varying sizes and the ability to operate a vehicle wheelchair lift.
Ability to navigate throughout Western New York including the Northtowns and the Southtowns.
Certifications Must be or become First Aid/ CPR certified.
Must complete the SCIP Philosophy section of the SCIP-R curriculum.
Be authorized as an Agency Driver by Holding and maintaining a valid NYS Driver’s License.
Maintaining an approved driving record according to Agency Policy and Procedure.
Physical and Mental Requirements: Staying awake and alert while on duty.
Physical requirements include walking, sitting, standing, driving, bending, stooping, carrying, and the ability to climb stairs.
Lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
Mental requirements include ability to concentrate and manage multiple tasks.
Working Conditions Occasional exposure to outdoor elements during transition between vehicle and buildings.
Local travel is required to and from offices and sites using agency vehicle.
