Duties are including but not limited to:
* *Transporting goods*: You are responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
* *Vehicle inspection*: You inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
* *Compliance with regulations*: You comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
* *Loading and unloading*: You are responsible for loading their vehicles, securing cargo, and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at their destination per rate con.
* *Communication*: You communicate and coordinate with dispatchers updating dispatcher throughout the entire load process, and faxing, emailing and texting copies of all necessary paperwork
* *Record keeping*: They maintain a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations.
* *Reporting*: They report defects, accidents or violations That will put the load in jeopardy of not being load on time.
These duties can vary depending on the specific rate con requirements.
Some drivers, deliver the same goods to the same places daily, while others deliver a variety of goods to a variety of places.
