SUPERVISOR: Delivery Logistics Manager
HOURS: M-F 10am-2pm, must be flexible (some evenings and Saturday’s)
CLASSIFICATION: Part Time (Hourly/Non-Exempt)
TRAVEL / LOCATION: 181 Barton primary (multiple locations)
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid, clean NYS Drivers License and must consent to a Department of Motor Vehicles record report (MVR)
Knowledge of how to handle materials safely and exercise safe lifting techniques
Maintain confidentiality of materials being transported
Familiarity with using navigation systems
Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule
Skilled in identifying and resolving problems
Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving
Ability to demonstrate high integrity, confidentiality and good exercise good judgment
JOB SUMMARY: The Delivery Driver’s main responsibility is to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of prescriptions, parcels and packages to patients, staff and community members.
They are responsible for transporting packages and other goods from pharmacy locations to a personal address or interoffice.
Their duties include loading goods, using navigation tools to arrive at the right address and delivering prescriptions to the correct address as well as obtaining payments and tracking all deliveries.
Essential Job Duties
LOGISTICS
Provide appropriate and timely pick-up, transfer, and delivery of medicine, packages, paperwork and parcel to patient homes and various JRCHC locations
Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading packages or orders
Communicating with supervisor and other drivers on a regular basis
Meeting delivery deadlines
Tracking shipments and deliveries
Obtaining client or customer signatures and payment when needed
Maintain necessary records pertaining to deliveries
Work closely with delivery manager to schedule and transport medicines
Track and collect payments working with supervisor to provide accurate records
Obtain work cell phone in morning and return in evening ensuring compliance with policies and procedures regarding technology, noting any concerns or issues to supervisor
Responsible for marking and logging undeliverable medications and returning them to evening drop box
VEHICLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be compliant with all aspects of and adherence to all elements in policy 12.
2 Vehicle Safety Policy including all vehicle safety rules
Provide proper incident reporting within 24 hours of any incident including any traffic violations, speeding tickets and reporting any accidents in great detail
Ensure that the vehicle is properly filled with fuel at all times
Maintain vehicle in clean and sanitary condition
Communicate to supervisor of any indication of necessary vehicle maintenance
ADMINISTRATION
Utilize delivery services software and any mobile devices to obtain signatures and proof of delivery
Ability to establish working relationships and effective communication, both orally and written with supervisors, patients, pharmacists, co-workers and the community
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Exert up to 50lbs.
pushing, pulling, or lifting.
Walking, climbing stairs required.
Able to talk/hear and communicate with others with or without reasonable accommodation.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel to sites while maintaining standards of safety and compliance with motor vehicle traffic laws.
This position may require travel for necessary training and conferences.
