*OVERNIGHT ALLOWANCE - MILAGE - HOTEL REIMBURSEMENT - QUARTERLY BONUS*
*Essential duties of Position:*
• Flexible start and end times determined by Transportation Manager daily
• Required up to 2-3 overnight runs per week as schedule demands.
• Flexible availability to accommodate schedule changes to cover over-the-road runs including overnight(s) as needed.
• Complete Pre- and Post-Trip inspections on any and all vehicle unit(s) assigned for operation
• Identify maintenance needs for any and all vehicle unit(s), to be reported into transportation electronic platform (SAMSARA) and management; required to perform minor maintenances as needed
• Scaling inbound and outbound tanker/trailer unit(s) at company, local customer, and/or vendor facilities as needed
• Sampling of inbound and outbound tanker/trailer unit(s) at company, customer, and/or vendor facilities
• Operate pumping equipment to offload products into various storage tank(s) and unit(s) at company, customer, and/or vendor facilities
• Quality inspection of containers, lines, equipment, etc.
to adhere to product integrity for loading and unloading of inbound and outbound tanker/trailer unit(s), as well as inspection of label(s) for capacity and correct product unit(s), at company, customer, and/or vendor facilities
• Securing tanker/trailer unit(s) for shipment (including but not limited to: airing out lines, sealing compartments, capping line heads, review load for necessary placards, product(s) inventoried per Bill of Lading, etc.
)
• Labeling container products as applicable
• Completing necessary documents for shipment, including but not limited to Sales Order Bills of Lading, Transfer Logs, etc.
• Operate forklift unit(s) as required for job performances at company facilities (internal company certification provided)
• Utilization of company email and phone for communications regarding shipping, transfers, equipment updates, load ready notifications, general company announcements, schedule updates, etc.
• Other non-day to day task(s) may be assigned to improve organization, efficiency and growth
• Aware and trained on all applicable work instructions and procedures, including use of mandatory PPE and operation of various handheld power tools
• Aware and trained on all Department of Transportation Regulations
• Aware and trained on all Safety Regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe operating environment compliant with OSHA and all applicable standards
• Coordinates with and supports the company’s goals
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed: *
• Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal traffic regulations
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures including pre-trip and post trip inspections
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to transporting goods and awareness of emergency procedures in case of accidents or breakdowns
• Understanding of documentation requirements.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, shippers, and receivers
• Strong time management skills to adhere to delivery schedules
• Professionalism in representing the company to customers.
• Ability to handle the physical demands of long hours of driving.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for handling minor vehicle repairs.
• Collaboration skills to work effectively with other drivers, dispatchers, and support staff.
*Qualifications: *
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years’ job-related experience required.
• Valid CDL A Driver’s License Required
• Valid Tanker Endorsement Required
• Overweight Hauling Permitted Required
• Valid Hazmat Endorsement Required.
• Must have valid passport or enhanced CDL A for border crossing.
• Must be able to travel commercial vehicles to and from Canada.
