Description The Business Development Manager (BDM) role is focused on owning the pre and post sales cycle by growing the customer base in the Commercial, MDU/MTE (multi dwelling unit/multi tenant environment) and HOA (homeowners associations)?space in the Rochester and Buffalo areas.
The ideal candidate will have experience successfully selling to and partnering with key decision makers in the property management, developer, commercial real estate and/or construction marketplace in the Western New York region via face to face, over the phone, email, and web-based tactics.
The BDM will have a history of bringing on new business through prospecting, relationship development and executing on detailed funnel management.
The BDM will work closely with Field Engineering and other internal construction, legal, finance and implementation personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and retention goals are met and that every project is delivered on time with a great customer experience.
Specific functions include: * Own and have accountability for MDU , HOA and commercial pre-sales functions.
(Property vetting , funnel creation , site survey support, proposal creation, negotiation and closing Agreements) * Service order, contract and other document creation for MDU’s, HOA’s and possibly Commercial prospects * Site survey coordination and for MDU’s, HOA’s and Commercial business opportunities * Funnel growth of MDU, HOA and Commercial prospects * Renewal of lapsed Business Development Customer Contracts * Market and competitive analysis as needed * Point of Contact/escalation point for MDU/HOA property managers post sales (excluding technical issues) * Representative for Homeowner Associations and Property Managers including attending HOA meetings and securing Easement Agreements * This position is a base salary + commision with a range of $100k $115k at 100% of plan Requirements *Knowledge Skills and Abilities* * Track record of success in a quota driven sales environment, preferably in commercial construction and/or a in related tech sectors * Understanding of internal pre-sales process including knowledge of operational processes in order to deliver service * Understanding of fiber internet service with the ability to explain technical information to a non-technical customer base.
* Track record of success developing new sales opportunities into long term partnerships * Proven track record of managing the entire sales cycle from pre to post sales.
* Ability to drive funnel management activity, * Ability to lead by influence and work collaboratively across work groups to drive projects to completion.
* Ability to handle escalated customer issues and manage through resolution to the benefit of the customer and the business.
* Self -starter who can manage multiple projects with competing priorities with minimal direction.
* Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal business functions and external stakeholders.
* Must hold valid NYS drivers license * Ability to travel within Greenlight Networks footprint on a consistent basis *Education Experience* * Minimum five years’ experience as an account executive in a customer / client facing role * Preferred experience selling a technical service into MDU / Commercial spaces * Four-year degree in related field preferred (business, marketing, finance) Our job titles may span more than one career level.
Theis position is a base salary + commision with a range of $55k $115k at 100% of plan .
The actual compensation package offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
