The role of Financial Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and financial support to New Era’s North American sales organization.
The primary responsibilities will be financial modeling for business decisions, P&L support, business reporting analysis, variance analysis, input to Customer targets, sell through data analysis & maintenance, and creation of annual budgets and mid-year forecasts.
Responsibilities
Meet weekly/monthly reporting deadlines including monthly accrual input, and in-depth variance analysis against plan and prior year for sales
Prepare and distribute weekly revenue files including year over year revenue tracker, Hot Market updates, At Once, and Key Customer dashboards
Collect and analyze sales data to assist in setting appropriate sales goals
Facilitate the annual, mid-year and quarterly revenue forecast process for North America Sales Organization
Maintain, and share, tracking of sales by rep vs.
plan / forecast
Create reports and analyze sell-thru data to support and identify opportunities and risks to the sales and business units
Maintain sell through dashboards and master data to ensure Sales Reps have access to accurate and useful data
Support business improvement through analysis of risks & opportunity vs Plan, ensuring data integrity, identifying business & sell through trends, and providing recommended actions to management
Actively identify profit & process improvement opportunities
Cross functional collaboration with other departments in both the establishment of valuable reporting, development of Program forecasts, and analysis/communication of business results
Financial modeling to facilitate decision making and planning and other project support as needed (including support for upcoming Commissions and Customer Discount/Rebate projects)
Cross collaboration with the finance team, sales, business units, and other functions
Keeps all sensitive matters confidential

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors
Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and problem solving skills to evaluate financial and operational performance / variances and effectively present the results to non-financial business partners
Must have solid technical accounting skills with a broad knowledge across the various finance disciplines (financial and managerial accounting, budgeting, analytics, etc.
)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to interpret data and communicate appropriately to leadership
Ability to work cross-functionally effectively, build and maintain positive relationships and provide guidance to internal partners to achieve business result

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
MBA and/or CPA a plus
Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in analyst role with a strong knowledge of accounting systems, planning, financial modeling and business analysis
Experience with business intelligence/reporting systems
Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems – SAP a plus
Experience with sell through data a plus
Experience with Tableau a plus
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

The salary range for this posted position is $65,000 - $75,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York.
Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
