Job Description:
Reporting to the Supervising Attorney, the Staff Attorney will work under a project focused on assisting newly arrived immigrants with accessing legal representation in immigration matters.
They will provide screening, outreach, direct immigration legal services, pro se assistance, Know Your Rights presentations, and referrals to the immigrant populations of Western New York.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide screening of newly arrived immigrant population to determine eligibility for immigration legal services
Provide affirmative and defensive immigration legal services to the immigrant populations of Western New York, including but not limited to new arrivals, in their applications for asylum, adjustment of status, family reunification, family-based immigration, Temporary Protected Status, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), employment authorization, removal defense, and appeals.
Organize and conduct relevant community outreach and education
Work closely with partner agencies in the coordination of services, referral processes, conflict of interest analysis, and efforts to minimize duplication of services
Provide referrals to appropriate internal agency programs, partner agencies, and/or statewide or national initiatives to meet legal and other needs of clients.
Ensure compliance with project data collection standard.

Be able and willing to travel to all counties throughout Western New York
Possess ability to be part of a dedicated team of talented individuals
Possess strong communication (written and oral) and advocacy skills
